Before you record

Before you record

Podcasting is about telling a story.

Before you hit that record button ask yourself:

  • Is a podcast the best medium for my story?
  • What's the podcast going to be about?
  • What do you want to accomplish in telling your story?
  • Who is your audience?

Other tips:

  • find good podcasts as examples
  • prepare a script, outline, or not!

What's your podcast about?

What's your podcast going to be about?

There are thousands of podcasts out there. What's your podcast going to be about?

Here are a few ideas:

  • Assignment
  • Oral histories
  • Interviews
  • News or current event

Your podcast can also be as simple as recording a conversation with a friend or colleague.

Once you have an idea for a topic or a theme, you can name your podcast.
