Science fiction (also sci-fi or SF) is a genre of speculative fiction that deals with imaginative and futuristic concepts such as advanced technology, space exploration, time travel, artificial intelligence, parallel universes, and extraterrestrial life. SF often extrapolates from the laws governing our current societies in order to explore alternative worlds that may come into being.
