Getting you started on a writing project - using Generative AI in the early phases of planning—to generate ideas, propose subjects for additional research, or provide examples—can be a helpful tool to inspire you. |
Language generated by generative AI may be completely fake, factually inaccurate, or misrepresents the original information. Instead of accurately reflecting sources or creating academically rigorous content, these technologies try to give answers they believe you want. Conducting your own research critically analyzing material and interacting directly with sources are all crucial academic skills, and using AI for this compromises your ability to learn and grow. |
Provide clear, understandable explanations of new concepts - text summaries, simple introductions, and alternative viewpoint presentation. For example, students can use generative AI text tools to break down complex concepts from a lecture.
Communicate and create information ethically with peers and professors - In private virtual correspondence, individuals expect to communicate with you directly instead and not a computer-generated response. Honest communication is important! |
Time management strategies and maximizing production - AI can support efficient time management by helping with the creation of study plans, schedules, and to-do lists and maximize their time. |
Using AI for assessment work ethically – At times your professor will explicitly state AI use is forbidden. Core skills pertinent to your field or ACEN accreditation are among the learning outcomes that your program and modules are meant to help you attain. Do not use AI if it compromises academic integrity |
