SHERPA/RoMEO

Securing a Hybrid Environment for Research Preservation and Access, or SHERPA, describes itself as “a searchable database of publisher's policies regarding the self- archiving of journal articles on the web and in Open Access repositories” according to its FAQ page. The organization was founded in 2002 and is dedicated to Open Access. SHERPA Services operates RoMEO to help scholars make their work accessible on the World Wide Web.
