Sustainability and Architecture

Treehouse in Cordoba "Sustainable architecture refers to the practice of designing buildings which create living environments that work to minimize the human use of resources. This is reflected both in a building's construction materials and methods and in its use of resources."1  As awareness of ecological and social impacts of development has increased, sustainable architecture and sustainable urbanism (green architecture in cities) have gained prominence and have codified into a social as well as architectural movements.
